Kepler's Law of Planetary motion
After many observation on the planetory motion, Kepler came to the conclusion & formulates three laws of planetory motion called Kepler's laws of planetory motion. These laws were published in about 1610 A.D. which are as follows:
1st Law: Every planets revolves around the sun in an elliptical orbit in such a way that sun remains at one of the foci. This law gives the concept of the shape of the orbit while planets revolve around the sun.
2nd law: The radius vector drawn from sun to planet sweeps out an equal area in equal interval of time i.e. the areal velocity of the planet is constant
(i.e.dA /dt =constant)
3rd Law: The square of the time period of revolution of planet around the sur
is directly proportional to cube of the semi-major axis of the elliptical path.
Here, t = time period of revolution of planet around the sun.
a= semi major axis.
